How many drywall sheets do I need?
Divide the wall area by the area of one sheet and round up. A standard sheet is 1.2 × 2.5 m (3 m²) or 4 × 8 ft (32 sq ft). Add about 10% for cuts around openings.
Enter the wall or ceiling size and the type of construction. The calculator estimates the drywall sheets, the framing profiles and the screws needed, plus the cost.

Roughly 30–35 screws per sheet, placed every 20–25 cm along the studs. Sheets on a ceiling or a second layer need slightly more.
Vertical studs are usually placed every 40–60 cm. Use 40 cm for a ceiling or when you want a stiffer wall, and add perimeter track profiles at the floor and ceiling.
Use 12.5 mm (1/2 in) sheets for walls and ceilings in most rooms. Thinner 9.5 mm sheets suit curved surfaces, and two layers improve sound insulation and fire resistance.
